Crx vti
Been looking for a nice tidy Civic em1 or Integra Dc2 Ukdm without any luck but have sourced a tidy 92' Crx del sol 1.6 vti with low mileage 75k, no stupid body kit and no rust I'm told...
If I buy it, tax and test it what's it worth, I know there rare now... Majority are 1.5 jap, this one was either a uk import or irish as clocks are mph..
thanks in advance

Re: Crx vti
Are you looking for a price on what its worth for you to buy it or to potentially sell it?
Id be fairly suspect of any 20+ year old UK import claiming to be rust free first of all..
If its got no tax or test has it been off the road long?
Is it transtop or manual roof? If trans top does it work?
As a car to buy and make money off it I think its the wrong car unless your getting it very very cheap..
As for selling with tax and test if it is very clean body etc I think €1600-2000 is your absolute max Ive seen extremely clean siRs go for that money and less recently.. There is no market for them here unfortunately

Re: Crx vti
It's a manual roof, not an electric targa type, wouldn't be interested in it if it was... Too much grief with leaks etc...
My plan is to try get it for the right money, although the asking price isn't bad but I'm not pushed on it but hear there a fun car to drive and I've always kinda liked them....
I know it's gonna need a good full service, timing belt, cv joint and whatever else I find upon inspection...
What are they like in general though, I guess you can't go wrong with them as there based on the EG chassis

Re: Crx vti
There is no more leaks on the transtop than the manual but they can be a bit troublesome if not in regular use
They are some of the best value you will get in good genuine B series chassis and still some around that are not abused..
Mechanically they are pretty much EG chassis like you said and are easy get bits for so worth buying if you are

Right ok cheers, the car is said to be garaged but that's hearsay, I guess if it's been outside and the roof seals have been leaking there'll be a abit of damp/must in the car and seats or floor will be damp etc
I'll update this once I view the car, could be back in a Honda soon

Re: Crx vti
Ah worth a look over anyway
Check for rust on sills and arches and lift off the roof and pull back the seal where the roof seals to the windscreen they can rust here too
Also check in the door shut where the door clasps they can crack around here just from the chassis flex due to being convertable
Just bits to help bargain down on price, if they are all fine it would be a good solid car

Re: Crx vti
As C-Rex said. To buy they are a bargain. I wish I picked one up when there was a few decent looking SiRs going for 2 grand a year or two ago. Now they are a little scarce.
But if you are planning to buy one and sell it on for a profit. Could be tricky as not many people after them yet....

Re: Crx vti
I didn't get to view the car at the weekend as your man was busy, so might try go view this weekend...
If it's as clean as he says I'll buy it but I don't wanna buy it and be stuck with it, I'd keep it a few months if I like it but don't wanna buy it if there's no market further down the road,
I know you can't go wrong with the b16 in general
